Girl of the Match went to Skye Whitehurst, when all the team perform well like today is tough to select a player of the game. But Skye was brilliant all game, winning all of her 50/50’s and not allowing a tricky winger to get the better of her. Also she played some excellent forward passes and took control of Goal kicks knowing when to play short and when to kick long.
Girl of the Match was awarded to Freya Foulston. Back to her best after a lengthy lay off with injury. After easing back in over the last few weeks she was back full force, making excellent forward runs and helping out defensively too. Two goals today too for her first goals since her return.
GOTM was won by Emma Kendall-Lovell, in a game where she played three different positions striker, centre back and centre midfield it was the latter where she most influenced the game. Bossing the midfield and protecting the inexperienced defenders, as well as starting many great attacks. Not her personally preferred position but none the less a game changer on the day.
Girl of the Match was awarded to Neve Amos who bossed the midfield in the second half, protected the defence well with her doggy attitude and started some great attacks with her forward passes. Her best game of the season.
Girl of the match was awarded to Olivia Sayles, part of this new formation saw her playing as a second centre back and it was a accomplished performance from the number thirteen. She built a great partnership with Libbie and looked a natural in that position.
Player of the match was awarded to Ava Spivey, starting up front and later playing on the wing. Kept making runs and closed the ball down excellently and showed pace, power and desire to provide the assist for the first goal of the game.

GOTM went to Evie Woodward, after initially being very nervous about going in goal, she delivered an excellent performance. Her positioning, catching and distribution was faultless and after a stop start season with injury Evie completed her fist full game of the season.
GOTM was awarded to Leah Simpson-Holland who not only had 2 goals and a assist but worked her socks off all game. And was the engine of the team up and down the pitch for 60 minutes. A much needed performance for Leah’s confidence.
Clara Brown has been awarded Player of the Match for the second time in three weeks. Her impressive performance, which included three goals and an assist while playing on the left wing for the first time, highlights the significant impact she can have on a match when she is actively involved in the play.
Girl of the Match today went to Libbie, who was a rock at the back and helped the team to a clean sheet with the opposition only having one chance all game. She was strong and composed and brought the ball out of defence effectively on several occasions.
Player of the match went to Clara Brown who played i the right wing for the first time with the aim to get her quality more involved in the game, and it worked as she not only started some attacks but also provided excellent defensive support to the right backs. Clara proving her versatility in a tough game .
Girl of the match went to Emma Kendall Lovell, she worked really hard in the first half to win the ball and put some great balls into the box. And in the second half asked to play in a different role upfront scored soon after being introduced. And then in the closing stages as they were looking for an equaliser was dropped into midfield and was involved in everything. Excellent all round performance from Emma .
Girl of the match went to Leah Simpson-Holland who was making her 100th appearance for the Armthorpe girls. And she came on today after 20 minutes and changed the game. She linked the midfield and the attack remarkably well, got the opener when when game could have swung either way and ultimately was a class apart on the day.
Girl of the match went to Ava Spivey who came on for the second half and was excellent down the right had side, she ran her socks off and put some very dangerous crosses into the box. She almost got a goal when she turned in the box and fired into the side netting. Its great to see Ava building confidence again and hopefully there's more to come from the Wellie number 7.
Girl of the match went to Tillyanna Jackson who played the first half at left back and was really solid. Making many great tackles and interceptions. Tilly was part of a defence that all performed excellently as well as Lexi in CDM and goal keeper Emily.
Player of the week went to Lexi Hirst who dominated the midfield in the second half and often moved the ball forward with great purpose. And for the second game in succession got an assist, She also made some key tackles to stop the opponent starting some attacks.
Girl of the match went to Freya Foulston with 3 goals in 2 assists. It was a typical full energy performance from Freya. Everything she was involved in created chances as well as helping out defensively down the left hand side. It turned out to be an excellent day for Freya against her former club.
In a fantastic team display it was Emma Kendall-Lovell who won Girl of the Match. having to overcome her disappointment of starting on the bench, she used this to drive her and put in a strong dominant display down the right hand side. Winning the ball back countless times, and put some great balls into the box. Rewarded with a free kick goal also, it was a fantastic performance from the summer signing.
GOTM went to captain for the day Skye Whitehurst, she lead a very solid defensive display for Armthorpe and lead by example making some key interceptions and great forward passes, also her distribution from goal kicks was immense.
This week Girl of the match went to Freya Foulston, she started the game fantastically by closing down the opposition to win the ball up the field. She was rewarded with an early goal to get her team off the mark. Freya continued to work really hard all game tracking back to help the defence and creating many chances with her pace down the left side. Overall a great performance from last seasons players player and parents player of the year.
It was a difficult opening weekend for the new goalkeeper last Saturday. But today Emily was in outstanding form and made some fantastic saves at a very important time during the match. Her talking and communication was great all game and her distribution when kicking out of her hands was excellent not only getting distance but also accuracy to the wings. Armthorpe's number 1 is improving every week and is a important cog in this team.
Still adapting to her new position as centre defence, Libbie is starting to make it her own. Some key tackles and clearances showed her quality. And then in the second half as Libbie pushed forward to try and help the team get back into the game, she provided an assist late in the game.
